Our technology

Blockchain-based systems rely on cryptography of information and community consensus to validate transactions and associated operations, unlike a traditional model that relies on trust in a validating/certifying entity.

From on-site energy measurements, GTIME generates blockchains that are integrated into a dedicated (permissioned) blockchain network. The registration of new data, generated by all participants of this decentralized network, is what gives life to this information chain. The new data is incorporated into the chain through a process called “Proof of Work” (PoW), and cannot be modified within the chain.

Something that distinguishes GTIME Blockchain from other systems is that the “mining” process (generation and recording of information) is processed every 15 minutes from the same energy generation source. This allows its users to have updated information practically in real time, which facilitates traceability, security and energy transactions.

How does GTIME Blockchain work?

Every 15 minutes the GTIME of each generation system adhered to our platform is collected and a block is generated to be mined, which is added to the chain leaving a hash or digital signature as a record, allowing absolute traceability of that energy.

The connection of blocks of information from different network users creates a sequential link called a “hash”, which is basically a 64-character digital signature that involves information from the hashes of the previous block and the current block processed, so any modification in this would mean a new hash and would be rejected by the network.

Data mining
It is used to designate the process of generating and recording new data within the information chain.

Measuring from the origin

To ensure the veracity of the information, we have developed a complete measurement station (mining nodes) which is connected at the same generation site to the billing device, PV inverter or datalogger, to collect and process the energy data; minimizing the error of the collected energy data.

In addition, each station has a series of sensors of meteorological variables that ensure as a point of comparison that allows you to measure the “Performance Ratio” of the solar installation. The information of solar radiation and generated energy allows to verify that there are no errors or data corruption when verifying the production information of the generating plants.

Currently, our mining nodes have been distributed to different public and private organizations such as government agencies, foundations, companies and individuals participating in the blockchain network to ensure a network base where the veracity of the processed information is a key point. The physical nodes are small artifacts that are delivered pre-configured and only need a WiFi connection. The energy consumption of the miners is less than 10W, and they can be powered through a 5V and 2000mA source.

On the other hand, we are working on a downloadable mining client compatible with Windows and iOS that will be free to download for those who want to participate in data mining prior authorization from the blockchain platform. The nodes, by operating with a RESTful architecture, do not need great processing power, so the energy consumption derived from data mining, in both the case of physical and virtual devices is marginal.

GTIME PROTOCOL

The GTIME system records the origin of the energy production through the variables Geolocation, Time, User ID, MAC Address of the device and the energy generated by the solar plant (hence its acronym).

With the processing of this data every 15 minutes from each clean energy plant, a blockchain is created, which is subsequently mined by data mining.
